Bending
Sheet metal bending is a metal processing technique used to transform flat sheet metal into V-shaped, U-shaped, or slotted workpieces. After the material is placed under the machine, most of it needs to be bent and shaped. The company has multiple computerized bending machines, which not only have fast speed but also ensure precise workpiece processing.
1.Appearance
1.1 Non-machined surfaces should be kept clean. If there is a protective film on the raw material surface that does not affect the processing or part accuracy, it should be retained. The degree of surface scratches should not exceed the specified limit for heavy scratches, and for exported products, it should not exceed the specified limit for mild scratches.
1.2 Surface indentation refers to periodic or non-periodic concave imprints on the sheet metal surface, and should be less than 5x10/m in length.
1.3 Bent surfaces should not have obvious stretching cracks.
1.4 There should be no edge cracking on the bent angle edges. When unavoidable edge cracking occurs, appropriate-sized process holes should be made at the cracked edges.
2.Dimension
2.1 The relative linear dimensions and tolerances of structural components, as well as the positions of various holes and slots, should comply with the requirements of the drawings. If no tolerance is specified, it should meet the requirements of tolerance grade m.
2.2 The diagonal dimensions should meet the following criteria while satisfying the requirements of linear dimensions, shape and position dimensions, or tolerances:
a. When the diagonal length ≤ 550 mm, the difference between the diagonals should not exceed 1.5 mm.
b. When the diagonal length is above 550 mm, the difference between the diagonals should not exceed 3 mm.
3.Shape
3.1 Straightness, flatness, and perpendicularity should meet the requirements of tolerance grade L if no tolerance is specified.
3.2 The tolerance value for parallelism is equal to the given dimension tolerance value or the larger value between the corresponding tolerance values of straightness and flatness if no tolerance is specified.
3.3 Other requirements are specified in the drawings or process documents.
4.Inspection
4.1 First-article inspection must be conducted before processing multiple sheet metal bending parts.
4.2 Appearance inspection should meet the requirements of article 1.
4.3 Dimension inspection of bending parts should meet the requirements of article 2.
4.4 Shape inspection of bending parts should meet the requirements of article 3.
4.5 Bending parts that have been reworked or repaired should be re-inspected following the inspection procedure, and quality standards should not be lowered.
4.6 Other quality requirements should be inspected and determined according to the specifications in the drawings and process documents.
5.Safety
5.1 Overloading during bending should be avoided as much as possible.
5.2 The bending force of the workpiece must not exceed the nominal force.
5.3 The opening size of the V-shaped groove on the lower die of the bending workpiece should be larger than 6-8 times the thickness of the sheet.
5.4 Operators should wear protective gloves during operation.
5.5 The clearance between the upper and lower dies on the bending machine must be adjusted evenly, and the clearance can be 1mm larger than the plate thickness.
5.6 It is not allowed to place tools, measuring instruments, etc., on the bending machine dies and worktable.
5.7 The workpieces should be handled gently, avoiding dragging and throwing. The maximum stacking height on site should not exceed 1m.
Advantages of CNC bending machine for machining products:
1.Good flexibility
2.High processing efficiency
3.High precision
Want To Work With Us?
Sheet metal fabrication and welding services are part of our commercial, construction, and industrial steel and metal manufacturing processes. We support the manufacturing of metal sheets and plates made from low carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. With our 4-meter bending machine, stamping tools, forming tools, and extensive knowledge in sheet metal welding, we can fabricate the most complex parts. We are experts in stainless steel, which means we can cut, fold, weld, and polish any part to leave a perfect satin or mirror finish. We not only work with stainless steel but also with aluminum, low carbon steel, brass, copper, and zinc. As experts in sheet metal fabrication, we can provide the necessary surface treatments for any part, including satin finishing, mirror finishing, shot blasting, sandblasting, and powder coating. Our capabilities go beyond this.
