Related work in the early stage of sheet metal processing

Aug 10, 2023

The production of sheet metal chassis and cabinets has intensified in the market competition. As a sheet metal processing manufacturer, how to stand out in the fiercely competitive market? Enterprises want to have sustainable development not only must have an excellent corporate culture, but more importantly It is a product that users want to like. Only with superb sheet metal processing skills and reasonable prices can we have better opportunities for cooperation.

Next, let's first understand the related work involved in the early stage of sheet metal processing.

1. What is a sheet metal chassis engineering drawing?

Sheet metal chassis processing engineering drawings also belong to the category of mechanical drawing, which is a discipline that uses drawings to accurately represent the structural shape, size, working principle and technical requirements of machinery. Composed of graphics, symbols, text and numbers, drawings are technical documents expressing design intentions and manufacturing requirements as well as exchanging experience, and are often called the language of the engineering world.

The chassis drawings mainly include part drawings and assembly drawings. The part drawings express the shape and size of the parts and the technical requirements for manufacturing and inspecting the parts; the assembly drawings express the assembly relationship and working principle between the various parts and components in the machine; Graphics, commonly used are views, sectional views, and section views.

The view is the figure obtained by projecting the part to the projection surface according to the orthographic projection method. According to the projection direction and the position of the corresponding projection surface, the views are divided into front view, top view and left view, etc. Views are mainly used to express the external shape of parts. Outlines that are not visible in the figure are indicated by dashed lines. When the part is projected onto the projection surface, there are two relative positions among the observer, the mechanism and the projection surface. When the device is located between the projection surface and the observer, it is called first angle projection. When the projection surface is between the device and the observer, it is called the third angle projection method. Both projection methods can equally perfectly express the shape of the machine part.

2. What are the components of the drawing?

Title column: including part name/drawing number, company name, material, drawing specification, scale, etc.

Information column: including heat treatment, hardness, free tolerance, unfilled chamfer, surface roughness and related standard geometric dimensions and tolerances, special requirements marked on the drawing

3. Orthographic projection

It can accurately and completely express the shape and structure of the body, and it is easy to draw and has good measurement, so it is widely used in engineering drawings

4. Three Views

The projection relationship of the three views: the length is aligned, the height is equal and the width is equal.

5. Basic view

Added on the basis of three views (front view, top view, left view): right view, bottom view, rear view.

6. Section view

When using views to express parts, their internal structures are represented by dotted lines. The more complex the shape of the internal structure, the more dotted lines will appear in the view, which will affect the clarity of the drawing and make it difficult to read the drawing and mark the size.

7. Projection method

There are two drawing methods for three views: the third angle projection method and the first angle projection method, both of which conform to the ISO international standard. At present, China, Germany and other countries use the first angle projection method, while the United States, Japan and other countries use the third angle projection method. The difference between the two projection methods:
First angle projection places the object between the projection surface and the viewer
The third angle projection method is to place the projection plane between the object and the observer, so the views obtained by the two projection methods are opposite in expressing the front and rear positional relationship of the object.

8. Pattern

The samples mainly include part drawings and assembly drawings. The part drawings express the shape and size of the parts as well as the technical requirements for manufacturing and inspecting the parts; the assembly drawings express the assembly relationship between the various parts and components; , cross-sectional views, and cross-sectional views.

9. Map recognition method

Step 1: Preliminary identification of what shape parts the product reflects. Get a three-view, how to understand its spatial shape? This is a process from plane to space. Sheet metal drawings are relatively simple. Here we introduce a basic method for viewing drawings - shape analysis. The so-called shape analysis method is to analyze the combination of basic shapes of objects, find out the projection of each basic shape one by one, think clearly about their spatial shape, and then according to the combination of basic shapes and the relative positions of each shape , similar to the overall spatial shape. The three views we commonly use are drawn using the principle of orthographic projection. Each view can only express the shape of an object in one direction, but cannot reflect the entire object. Therefore, when looking at a picture, several views must be connected. For some objects with complex shapes, the shape of the object cannot be clearly expressed by using only three views, which requires the use of projection views from other surfaces: right view, bottom view, rear view, and auxiliary views: such as sectional views , cross-sectional views, partial enlarged views, etc.

The second step: understand the relevant process information of the product. The product is alive, what is its name? What material is it made of? What kind of process is it realized? Are there any special requirements? Where is it used? Drawings will indicate this information for the viewer to obtain. As a technician, you need to know the necessary information. Where is this information? The basic information is in the title bar at the bottom right corner of the figure, and the remark information is in the technical requirements column at the bottom left corner. Other heat treatment, hardness, free tolerance, unspecified Note that chamfering, surface roughness and related standard geometric dimensions and tolerances are in the leftmost information column.

Step 3: Identify the size of the drawing. The largest part of the drawing is the picture recognition part in the middle, which mainly reflects its shape and size. This part will have different needs and information points according to different processes. We generally look at the picture first in the above two steps, and compare the picture with the product. One of the views is consistent (generally use the main view), and then look at other views according to the projection rules. After confirming the views, mark the corresponding physical size according to the diagram, and do related process processing.

The above is about the preparatory work for the processing of the chassis and cabinets. The materials of the chassis and cabinet panels are generally made of profiles or 1.50mm cold-rolled steel plates; the panels of the workstations are made of aluminum alloy, and the thickness is divided into 10mm, 8.0mm, 6.0mm, and 5.0mm. Specification. For the decoration on the panel, for the aesthetic appearance of the chassis, there are generally some decorative silk screens, concave-convex grooves, etc. on the chassis panel. The principle is that the function and firmness of the chassis should not be affected. There are no special case exceptions for the location.

When choosing a manufacturer of sheet metal chassis cabinets, we must understand the sheet metal processing technology of sheet metal chassis cabinets, which is of great help to whether we can choose a good sheet metal chassis cabinet.
